Lamb with Spinach, Portobello and Broad Beans

imageLong time no blog posts does not mean no food or no cooking. It is just one of the busiest times of the year.

We wanted to treat ourselves to something special today. Hence we went grocery shopping to Helsinki and started with a glass of bubbly at Hotel Kämp, the finest hotel where we’ve enjoyed an aperitif on almost every wedding anniversary.

We did other shopping too and visited some Christmas markets. The one at Senate Square is lovely. This year they have a largish areas preserved for restaurants. This is the St Thomas Market that would be in the Esplanade Park some years back. Tomorrow it is time for our hometown markets here in Porvoo. We are expecting 10,000 visitors over the weekend.

Now back to our culinary endeavours. Lamb fillets served with beluga lentils (cooked on slow heat with onions in water and balsamico), broad beans, portobello mushroom (sautéed in butter with lemon juice) on a bed of baby spinach.
