About

My blog is about the passions of my life – art, travel and cooking. Recently more about cooking as you can see. The passions (art, travel and food) have a special place in my heart just as my family and friends do. I’ll be cooking and travelling in my kitchen and armchair, virtually and for real, down the memory lane and into the future. Join my journey – hope you enjoy the ride.

I’ve always liked cooking and coming from a large family I have done my fair share of it already at home. My mom and grandmothers (grandmothers and great-grandmothers) have taught me much. I cherish their teachings and am thankful for all the tastes and kitchen and dinner table memories. I had my first real and longer teaching job at a tourism college (may years ago) and I had language classes for waiters and cooks. That year I started reading cook books and magazines and experimenting with new recipes. Those were the early days of my cooking passions just as I was starting to discover the world of travel – personally and also professionally. In the meanwhile I’ve had other jobs in teaching but today my job is in the departments of tourism and business.

I am Liisa from Porvoo, Finland, and a language teacher by profession. Finnish is my native language and Swedish my second, I teach Swedish and English at a university. You are welcome to comment my blog in any of the above languages. I’m learning Italian and you can also write in Italian
